Lighting of the Beacon
9.30 - 10.00pm
on the village green.

As part of the nationwide celebrations of the Queen's 70th Jubilee,
there is a cordinated lighting of village beacons at 9.45pm.
​
Our original beacon, that stands proudly on the grass verge, with the village sign hanging below, was made by Les Potts from the village, who is also our longest standing wood warden and general handy-man for the village.
​
As the existing beacon is now surrounded by trees and overhanging wires, Les Potts has built a shorter version that will be lit on the village green.
